Food Talk
By Jordan, Posted January 26, 2012 under London, Restaurant Review, Vegetarian
After getting settled into my temporary housing, permanently, I finally have a little more time to get out and relish my life as a London resident. A Londonite? Earlier this week, I rambled on about how much I like food, specifically healthy vegetarian food. And, until tonight, my daily eating regimen has been pretty boring, consisting of chocolate oatmeal, fresh juice, and hot bar food. However, this evening, I had fabulous, low-key vegetarian meal that I thought was worth sharing blog worthy.
Few things make me happier than a warm, filling, mouthwatering meal that seamlessly and tastefully incorporates a plethora of veggies. I don’t need anything fancy; I just want something that nourishes my body and my soul. Enter Maoz.

Maoz is a vegetarian falafel chain. You get a pita with falafel, and then, you get to choose unlimited toppings from an appetizing and unique vegetable bar. I went with avocado, quinoa, a tomato and parsley salad, red cabbage, and roasted cauliflower. Every single bite was packed with savory and satisfying flavor – eaten while leisurely meandering through Soho and Chinatown with one of my newfound friends.

Coffee and sinful chocolate cake were an inevitable end to the evening.

And what is coffee and cake without an outdoor cafe table, captivating conversation, and people watching in the frigid London air?

Although my feet my still be a little numb from my lack of appropriate cold-weather socks, I throughly enjoyed a small piece of London tonight. Being a tourist can be fun, but there is something to be said for the charm of a modest evening with good company – just embracing life and soaking up the atmosphere and culture of a new city. Plus, a relaxed evening is usually key after a night of dancing and shots because life is all about a healthy balance.

Oh yes! If you ever run across a Maoz (there are a few in the Northeast), I highly suggest you try it. Delicious!
