For a second, I think I have London figured out. It is easy to forget I am a foreigner in a foreign country. People speak English although I can seldom understand it, and there isn’t anything hard to come by in London. I can’t find Larabars or nutritional yeast in the grocery stores, but London isn’t like Spain where I literally had an all-day wild goose chase trying to find workout clothes. However, as soon as I begin to feel comfortable here, I have a paradigm shift and see London is a completely different light, and I realize that I’m living in a similar, but parallel universe. So, all in all, the culture shock I’m experiencing is confusion. I’m not quite sure how to feel. I love London thus far, and I’m enjoying myself, but on some level, I feel shouldn’t be experiencing much culture shock because in London, I don’t feel particularly out of place here. However, at the same time, I’m am undeniably in a different country (duh) with different ways to doing things. ”Take Away” coffee is cheaper than normal coffee – say what? Coffee comes with milk in it. Oatmeal is called porridge. You get my drift?
Cultural differences aside, I am 100% sure that I want to have an amazing and memorable time while I’m in London, so I decided to make a bucket list. I’ve studied abroad multiple times before, and I always end up neglecting to do things I had planned on doing. But, this time, I’m putting my desires down in writing and making them public – obviously a surefire was to coerce myself into doing things that I actually want to do. I didn’t include clubbing, but if you know me, you know that it is a given, and if you don’t know me, now you know where my priorities lie.

The picture just makes me smile! How about the Natural History Museum (close to V & A Museum), the Goring Hotel (did you forget?), Kensington Palace, or Clarence House. Love, MOM

I was going to have tea at the Goring Hotel. I have the Natural History Museum on there, but I’ll have to add the other ones.
Thanks Mom.

Love the list and can’t wait to watch you accomplish it all! What is this vegetarian “pie” you speak of? Can’t wait to see that!
